Stranger Things cast receive massive pay raises for season 3

When a TV show becomes a hit at the level Stranger Things has, it’s only natural for the actors to eventually want a paycheck which reflects that.

With that in mind, the main cast from Stranger Things season 1 have all received massive pay raises ahead of season 3.

Sources for the Hollywood Reporter said the actor’s raises have been separated into three different tiers relative to their importance on the show.  Tier A, consisting of David Harbour and Winona Ryder, will be receiving as much as $350,000 an episode.

Tier B, which includes Finn Wolfhard, Gaten Matarazzo, Caleb McLaughlin, and Noah Schnapp will get $250,000 an episode ( a dramatic increase from $30,000 they received for season 1).

Meanwhile, Natalia Dyer, Charlie Heaton and Joe Keery in Tier C will each get $150,000 an episode.

Perhaps the most notable raise of all though is the one for arguably the show’s biggest star Millie Bobby Brown.  While the exact amount hasn’t been disclosed, it is believed that her salary will be higher than her young co-stars and possibly almost as much as Harbour and Ryder.

This part feels especially interesting given that actress’ salaries in comparison to their male co-stars have become one of the more hot-button issues around Hollywood.  Just last week Netflix found itself under fire when it was discovered that The Crown star Claire Foy had been making less than her co-star Matt Smith, prompting Netflix to issue an apology earlier today.

Season 3 is expected to start production sometime next month and premiere sometime in 2019.
