Now that the salaries have been taken care of, the cast and crew of Stranger Things gathered for their panel at PaleyFest Sunday night to tease some details on what will be in store for season 3.

Stranger Things season 3 will be taking place about a year after season 2 in the summer of 1985 and with that setting references to Back to the Future are basically inevitable.

The Hollywood Reporter revealed that executive producer Shawn Levy added that Stranger Things season 3 will establish Mike and Eleven, and Lucas and Max as couples.

"“Mike and Eleven and are going strong, so that’s a relationship that continues, and same with Mad Max and Lucas. But again, they’re like 13- or 14-year-old kids, so what does romance mean at that stage of life? It can never be simple and stable relationships and there’s fun to that instability.”"

Levy also said that fan favorite Steve would be having a bigger role for the upcoming season with what appears to be more of a focus on the more paternal side he showed in Stranger Things season 2 or what Levy referred to as “Dad Steve.”

"“We’ll definitely get to see some more of Steve Harrington in season three, and I’ll just say we won’t be abandoning the Dad Steve magic. I don’t want to say much more, but I literally feel that we were walking along and we stumbled onto a gold mine with Dad Steve.”"

Stranger Things season 3 is expected to start shooting in April and released sometime in 2019.
