Game of Thrones may not cover fate of Edmure Tully in Season 8
Tobias Menzies may not appear in Game of Thrones Season 8 as Edmure Tully.
Whatever happened to Edmure Tully on Game of Thrones?
When we last saw him, Jaime Lannister forced him to order the Tully army to leave Riverrun so that the combined Lannister and Frey armies could take the castle from the Blackfish. He is presumably still in a Lannister dungeon somewhere.

If you’re hoping to get a proper ending for Catelyn Stark’s unlucky brother in season 8, you may be disappointed.
According to CinemaBlend, Tobias Menzies, the actor who plays Edmure Tully, still hasn’t heard from HBO. And they’ve been filming since the fall.
When asked about his fate on Game of Thrones, Menzies said,
“The honest answer is, I have no idea. He’s obviously somewhere in a prison, he’s still around alive somewhere. They’re pretty stingy with their information, and I’ve not heard anything from them. I feel like they have so many stories to tie up, whether that’s a story they’ll want to go back to, I don’t know.”
With so many characters and only six episodes left, it’s impractical to think every character will get a satisfying ending. I am much more concerned about the dates of Jon Snow, Dany, the Lannisters, and the Stark kids.
But Tully was a significant part of one of the most infamous events in Game of Thrones history: The Red Wedding.
After Robb Stark reneged on his promise to marry one of Walter Frey’s daughters, Robb pressures Edmure to marry the girl instead. He is the lone survivor of the Red Wedding and spent most of the series locked up.

Again, his character has been a non-factor most of the series, so I don’t think I will be too upset if I don’t find out what happens to him. Hey, maybe he’ll appear in one of the spinoffs!
And if you’re worried about Menzies, the actor, don’t. Netflix just cast him as Prince Phillip for Season 3 of The Crown.
