The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel heads to Paris for season two!

After a critically-acclaimed first season, The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel is deep into filming season two–and we are so excited! The series snagged two Golden Globes, a PGA award, and two Critics’ Choice Awards for its first season. The cast paid a visit to Deadline’s Tribeca Studio to talk about the upcoming season and their time in Paris.

The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel tells the story of a housewife in the 1950s who accidentally transforms her life after her husband decides to leave her for a younger woman. She ends up performing stand-up comedy that drunken night–and the rest is history.

The cast talked about how they spent two weeks in Paris filming, although they kept mum about what leads the story there in the second season.

Marin Hinkle shared how she felt about their time there:

"“We shot for a couple weeks in Paris and I have to say, I would be looking out and I actually thought there was a scrim, as if they had put something up for the background. I said, ‘That’s so beautiful, what they’ve created,’ and someone was like, ‘Are you crazy? That’s Paris. But it was amazing to have that city as our background.”"

Alex Borstein, who plays Susie, talked about the success and praise the first season has received. She also talked about the optimism that the show brings in what has been quite a depressing climate all around the world.
