Actress Jessica Walter plays the savage and formidable matriarch Lucille Bluth on Arrested Development.

But according to her, things haven’t always been cordial and as they seem on the show’s set.

In an interview with the New York Times, Jessica Walter got emotional as she claimed that Jeffrey Tambor, who plays her on-screen husband George Bluth Sr. on Arrested Development, could be verbally abusive on set.

She even made the point that she had never been treated like that by anyone in all her years as an actress.

During an interview with The Hollywood Reporter, Tambor himself admits to a blowup on the set between the two of them and claims to have apologized to the actress afterward.

Tambor also claimed that he could be rather temperamental on set and that he made Executive Producer Bridget Bedard cry.

But Jessica Walter also makes it clear that she respects him as an actor and he has never behaved sexually inappropriately. Because of this, she says has let go of any resentment towards him. Walters even says that she is open to working with him again on future projects.

But future projects starring Jeffrey Tambor might not happen. Walter’s point was a response to being asked about other allegations about Tambor’s behavior stemming from his other show Transparent.
