The series will be directed by Mr. Robot’s Sam Esmail and will drop on Amazon Video on November 2nd. Homecoming is based on the popular Gimlet Media Podcast and Amazon got the rights to it about a year ago, and got a two-season pickup!

Roberts’ character is a caseworker named Heidi Bergman who works at the Homecoming Transitional Support Center that helps soldiers get back to civilian life. Walter Cruz, played by Stephan James, is one of the soldiers that Heidi will help, and someone that is ready to move on with his life.

In charge of the facility is a man named Colin Belfast, played by Bobby Cannavale, who is an extremely ambitious and demanding man that will make viewers question his motives. The story will pick up four years later with Heidi living with her mother (Sissy Spacek) working as a waitress when she is confronted by a Department of Defense employee questioning why she left the facility.
