Ben Stiller prison drama gets premiere date and trailer from Showtime


Showtime just dropped a trailer and announced a premiere date for the Ben Stiller prison drama, Escape at Dannemora.

Escape at Dannemora is about to explore a real-life prison break that occurred in upstate New York back in 2015. Many from the area may remember this infamous story, but Showtime is going to present it through an eight-hour limited series which will tell the story from another perspective.

At the TCA’s earlier this week, the President and CEO of Showtime announced the premiere date and then gave a sneak peek into the series with a brand new trailer. Based on true events, Escape at Dannemora will explore the escape of two convicted murderers and the woman who aided and abetted them in their escape.

Ben Stiller, who is the executive producer and director of the series, is the man behind the camera who is responsible for bringing this story to the screen. Along with Patricia Arquette, who plays the prison tailor, Benicio Del Toro and Paul Dano will also star in the series.

Arquette’s character, Tilly, a mother and a wife, is in charge of the prison tailor shop but ends up sexually involved with two of the convicts, played by Dano and Del Toro. Del Toro’s character is the one behind the master planning for the escape, while Dano may actually be falling for Arquette’s character.

In order to help them, Tilly smuggles in blades in hamburger meat. Yikes, this story just keeps getting more and more interesting, right?

Escape at Dannemora will premiere on Showtime on Sunday, November 18th at 10 PM EST!
