The first season of Homecoming will premiere on Amazon Prime in November. Get your first look at Julia Roberts’ first starring role in a television series!

Following the world premiere of Homecoming at the Toronto Film Festival last week, Amazon Prime has released a trailer for its new psychological thriller series starring Julia Roberts. The series scored a two-season order last summer, and its 10-episode debut run will drop November 2.

Homecoming is based on the fictional podcast of the same name and is written by the podcast’s creators Eli Horowitz and Micah Bloomberg. Sam Esmail, the creator of Mr. Robot, directed the series.

Roberts headlines as Heidi Bergman. According to Deadline, Heidi is a former social worker who helped veterans adjust to civilian life at the Homecoming Transitional Support Center. In present-day, four years later, Heidi has transitioned to a new life herself, living with her mother (Sissy Spacek) and working as a waitress.

However, when a Department of Defense auditor (Shea Whigham) comes calling, Heidi is forced to confront her past and “begins to realize that there’s a whole other story behind the story she’s been telling herself.”

The series also stars Stephan James as Walter Cruz, a soldier at Homecoming “eager to begin the next phase of his life,” and Bobby Cannavale as Heidi’s boss Colin Belfast, “an ambitious company man whose manic demands point to questionable motives.”

Dermot Mulroney (Roberts’ My Best Friend’s Wedding co-star), Jeremy Allen White and Alex Karpovsky, among others, round out the cast.

While many streaming services have begun attracting A-listers, Homecoming will not just be Roberts’ web series debut. The iconic film actress has actually never starred in a television series.

Of course, she’s done guest stints on various series, perhaps, most memorably on Friends as Chandler’s former classmate Susie Moss, who gets epic revenge on him. (Did Chandler call Susie 20 years later — Jan. 28, 2016? We need to know!)

Robert has also starred in television films, most recently HBO’s The Normal Heart. But, if you needed another reason to get excited for Homecoming, the fact that it will be Roberts’ first starring role in a TV series is a pretty great reason.
