Doctor Who: The first full-length trailer for the new season is here!
The first full-length trailer for the upcoming 11th season of Doctor Who has been released.
In the trailer for Doctor Who, we get to see Jodie Whittaker in action as the 13th Doctor, often with her trusty sonic screwdriver. Whittaker is the first female to play the role. She is taking over for 12th Doctor, Peter Capaldi.
The Doctor typically has one or two human companions, but this time the Doctor will travel with a trio, Ryan (Tosin Cole), Yasmin (Mandip Gill), and Graham (Bradley Walsh), who we also get to see in the trailer.
Take a look at the minute-long preview below:
This season, Doctor Who will shift from its traditional Saturday night time slot to Sundays. The first episode of the upcoming season will premiere on Sunday, October 7 on BBC America at a yet to be announced time.

Besides the newly cast Doctor and her companions, the series has a new showrunner, Broadchurch‘s Chris Chibnall.
According to Deadline, the season premiere will be called “The Woman Who Fell to Earth” in which Ryan, Yasmin, and Graham meet a woman who falls from the sky and can’t remember her own name.
The second episode, airing Sunday, October 14, is entitled “The Ghost Monument” and will center on the Doctor and her new companions’ quest to solve a mystery in a hostile alien environment.
It’s interesting to note that in this first trailer, there is an emphasis placed on the Doctor’s penchant for helping people. Whittaker as the Doctor is shown twice mentioning that she helps or fixes things.
This is a notable difference from the previous Doctor. While the Doctor is always involved in adventures that ultimately assist people and aliens in need, Capaldi’s Doctor was often begrudging and curmudgeonly about it. If the trailer is any indication, Whittaker’s Doctor appears to embrace this tendency.
