Don’t let this week’s 9-1-1 episode title fool you–because help is just a team of hot first responders away.

9-1-1 is a show unlike any other despite the similarities its plot may have with other shows. There’s something about the heart-thumping, ridiculous situations that the first responders and co. have to get through that keeps us so addicted to all the drama. Not to mention, there is romance, comedy, and just about everything else one would need to stay fully invested in watching the show.

This week continued to deal with the aftermath er aftershock of the 7.1 earthquake that hit Los Angeles. Maddie is busy getting into the zone at the 9-1-1 dispatch center, while the gang is still stuck within the hotel trying to rescue people.

Buck and Eddie are with the woman they found and collectively try to figure a way down from their position. Along the way, they come across a man who has been greatly injured and presents another obstacle as they try to make their way down.

They attempt to make it down an elevator shaft, but when yet another aftershock comes shaking through, it takes away another route from them. All the while, Chim and Bobby are trying to find a way to find Hen who is stuck on the other side of the rubble from them. At first, they aren’t certain she is alive but GPS activity shows she is alive and well.

However, Hen isn’t exactly feeling enthusiastic about her chances especially after another first responder dies while she tries to take care of him. She leaves a tearful voice note for her wife, just in case she doesn’t make it out of there alive. I won’t lie and say I didn’t cry at this moment because Aisha Hinds sure made it feel real.

Chim and Bobby work together and defy direct orders to vacate the premises to find Hen. They stumble upon the valet parking lot and go through each vehicle they’re able to find anything that might help.

Perhaps the most clutch finding was an SUV from Utah that had snow chains. It allowed them to pull one of the cars forward and pave a path closer to Hen.

Eddie, Buck, and the rest of the crew eventually join them to help with the rescue efforts, and they are successful! Phew, it was quite the rush watching this all go down, fearing for who might leave us too soon.

Athena had her own escapade to deal with in this week’s episode of 9-1-1 as she dealt with riots around the city. One particular call took her to a grocery store where the owner was trying to ridiculously raise prices to take advantage of the emergency situation. When Athena arrives to calm down the customers, she realizes what is going on and gets the owner to do a 50% off sale instead.

After essentially all our favorites were safe and sound, we got to see glimpses of them reuniting with their loved ones including an adorable reunion of Eddie and his son. There’s also a sweet moment at the very end of the episode between Bobby and Athena–and boy, did it melt my heart.

Bobby trekked through the rubble of the city to check in on Athena and before he knows it, he is invited in for dinner by Athena’s ex–and to meet the children for the first time! It’s quite the satisfying episode filled with drama and love, and it felt me feeling all warm and fuzzy inside because everyone survived and there was still time to talk about love.
