There has been a lot of problems concerning American Gods season 2 on STARZ but a new trailer hit in time for NYCC and things look good.

After the first season ended up as a brilliant adaptation of Neil Gaiman’s impressive debut novel, showrunner Bryan Fuller left the series.

STARZ quickly replaced him but many fans were worried that his distinctive vision would be lost and that was part of what made that first season of American Gods so amazing to watch.

It also hurt when actress Gillian Anderson left along with Fuller and the show had to recast her and Kristin Chenoweth voiced her displeasure as well.

However, the word then spread that Neil Gaiman was the one who wanted Bryan Fuller off the show due to his dissatisfaction at where the showrunner was taking the story. Now that the first American Gods season 2 trailer is here, the good news is that the new showrunners are creating something with the same visual flair as season 1.

The American Gods season 2 trailer was released in the Hammerstein Ballroom at the NYCC on Friday and the cast and crew were in attendance at a panel presided over by Patton Oswalt.

Neil Gaiman, who just announced his partnership with Amazon Prime Video for future television shows, was also in attendance.

Not in attendance was Kristin Chenoweth, who did appear in the trailer. The actors on the panel included Ricky Whittle, Pablo Schreiber, Emily Browning, Orlando Jones, Yetide Badaki, Crispin Glover, Bruce Langley, Omid Abtahi, Mousa Kraish and Demore Barnes.
