Another Liane Moriarty adaptation is coming soon to our television screens in the form of The Hypnotist’s Love Story starring Heather Graham.
Heather Graham is the next actress to become a part of Liane Moriarty’s world of dramatic stories and suspenseful mystery. ABC is set to develop her book by the same name, The Hypnotist’s Love Story with Graham playing the lead, along with directing and executive producing according to Deadline.
The story focuses on a hypnotherapist named Ellen who seems to be content with her current boyfriend after experiencing a series of failed relationships. But things take a dark turn when he tells Ellen that his ex is a stalker that has been trailing him for many years.
Instead of being irked by it, Ellen seems fascinated with the situation and doesn’t realize she has already met his ex. What role Heather Graham will play has not yet been announced, though according to Deadline, it will not be the role of Ellen.
Jane the Virgin writer Katie Wech is on board for this project alongside Heather Graham who has been the number one advocate for making it a reality. After meeting with several producers, Graham brought the book to ABC Studios who eventually bought the pitch she had.
This isn’t Graham’s first rodeo when it comes to directing as she recently worked on a feature called Half Magic where she wrote, directed, and starred in it. Her credits also include Big Shorty, Law & Order: True Crime and Flaked.
Liane Moriarty is the author of the novel this series is based on and is most recently known for the HBO adaptation of her novel, Big Little Lies starring Reese Witherspoon and Nicole Kidman. Whether you’re a fan of Moriarty’s or new to her work, you’re in for one heck of a ride with the Heather Graham version of The Hypnotist’s Love Story.
