Game of Thrones releases eight whiskeys so you can drink while you wait

Each Game of Thrones whiskey represents a famous House of Westeros, even ones that were wiped out.

Winter is here, and it’s going to feel extra-long as we wait for the arrival of the final season of Game of Thrones in April.

What can we do to bide our time? Act like Tyrion Lannister and drink! Because that’s what we do — drink and know things.

Game of Thrones released eight bottles of single malt scotch whiskey. One for a famous house in Westeros: Tyrell, Baratheon, Stark, Targaryen, Lannister, Greyjoy, Tully, and the Night’s Watch. That last bottle is encased in all black. So cool!

In addition, each scotch was created at different acclaimed distilleries in Scotland. And each distillery was paired with each house for specific reasons.

Founded in 1824 by Helen Cumming and her husband, Cardhu Distillery would disguise it as a bakery to avoid paying alcohol taxes when the taxman came to collect.

Helen would also hide whiskey in her skirt because she knew the police wouldn’t search her. With such a strong woman at the helm, it was only fitting that Game of Thrones would pair Cardhu’s dragon crest whiskey with House Targaryen.

Bottles could be anywhere between $30 and $100. You can get yours here. Maybe as you re-watch the series in preparation for April, you can drink a bottle with each season!

If single malts aren’t your thing, there are plenty of other Game of Thrones-themed drinks to choose from.

Jonnie Walker created the White Walker whiskey. I see what ya did there. And winemaker Bob Cabral created a Cabernet Sauvignon, a Pinot Noir, and a Chardonnay that run about $20 each. You can even get a Game of Thrones corkscrew with a special code.

Whatever your poison, just drink responsibly.
