Fleabag season 2 releases first look photo
Phoebe Waller-Bridge’s biting comedy Fleabag will return for season 2 in 2019, and now BBC Three and Amazon have released a first look photo.
The photo, showing Waller-Bridge against a brick wall, can be seen at Deadline. Production on season 2 of Fleabag has just started.
The new season takes place shortly after the events of the first season. Fleabag’s family is still a mess — her sister, Claire (Sian Clifford) is still angry with her, Claire’s awful husband is still hanging around, and everyone’s trying to deal with their father’s (Bill Paterson) relationship with their godmother (Olivia Colman).
Much of the season 1 cast will be back., and they will be joined by Andrew Scott, known for playing Jim Moriarity on Sherlock.

Waller-Bridge is writing and executive producing the series. Series director Harry Bradbeer is also an executive producer, along with several others.
Waller-Bridge’s profile has risen considerably since the first season of Fleabag came out in 2016. Since then, she has voiced droid L3-37 in Solo: A Star Wars Story and created, written, and executive produced the critically acclaimed series Killing Eve. Waller-Bridge took time away from the second season of Killing Eve in order to return for season 2 of Fleabag.
Of Fleabag‘s upcoming second season, Waller-Bridge said:

The first season of Fleabag flew under the radar, but critics and viewers who watched it loved it. Since then, speculation about the series’ chances of returning has been high, so fans will be happy to learn season 2 is officially moving forward.
Fleabag‘s second season will be released in 2019. Anticipation will likely grow as an official release date is announced and more information about the new season is released.
