8. Watch with friends: Killing Eve (BBC America)
Arguably the best new TV series of 2018, Killing Eve will be an instant hit with your friends. It’s officially streaming on Hulu, and fans will be able to see star Sandra Oh host the Golden Globes where she’s also nominated. Phoebe Waller-Bridge, who wrote, directed, and starred in Amazon’s underrated Fleabag, also wrote and directed Killing Eve. She infuses the perfect blend of comedy with thrills in this game of cat-and-mouse. Oh stars as Eve Polastri, a desk officer from MI5 who gets swept up in an international chase with a crazy assassin named Villanelle, played by Jodie Comer. In fact, Comer is so good, you might be rooting for her by the end!

Season 2 is expected to premiere sometime in 2019.

7. Watch with family: Ozark (Netflix)

While Ozark might be a little too dark to watch if your family includes young kids, but the adults and teens will definitely enjoy this dark family drama. It’s always fun to see a comedic actor put in a gripping dramatic performance, which is exactly what Jason Bateman does as the patriarch of the Byrde family. His character, Marty, turns his family’s upside after a failed money laundering scheme sends them into hiding in Missouri. Laura Linney portrays his wife, Wendy, is able to make the best of a bad situation as she carves out a new career for herself. Despite the dark lighting of the show, it’s easy to get captivated by the show quickly.

Season 3 is expected to premiere sometime in 2019.
