Could Jon Snow and Daenerys Targaryen be brother and sister?
A new Game of Thrones theory is that Dany’s “dragons” are really “wyverns” — taking Thronie debates to another level — but does it measure up to the question of whether or not Jon Snow and Daenerys Targaryen brother and sister?
I truly miss the days when the biggest Game of Thrones theory was “R + L = J.” Because this next theory is a head-scratcher.
Are Jon Snow and Daenerys Targaryen brother and sister?

We all know that Jon Snow is the biological son of Rhaegar Targaryen and Lyanna Stark, making him Daenerys’ nephew since she is Rhaegar’s sister. (Follow all that?)
But is Dany really Jon’s aunt? What if Jon Snow and Daenerys Targaryen are actually brother and sister?
Some fans of the books think there are too many inconsistencies in Dany’s childhood that leave her actual parentage wide open.
One theorist points out that Dany always says she grew up in Braavos with a lemon tree. But lemon trees grow in Dorne, not Braavos.
She lived most of her childhood in hiding, so maybe her memory is a little spotty. And maybe what she has been told her whole life was, in fact, not true. It’s entirely possible that she is actually the daughter of Rhaegar and not Aerys.
This would make Jon Snow and Daenerys Targaryen brother and sister. Well, half-brother and sister anyway.
I’m not sure I buy it. They already have a storyline about a brother/sister romance, why would there be another?
Are Dany’s dragons not really dragons on Game of Thrones?
Another crazy theory, which is more of an argument of technicality, is that Dany’s dragons are not actually dragons at all.
A Reddit user recently claimed that dragons have four legs. But Drogon, Rhaegal, and (now) Frozen Viserion all have two legs and wings. This makes them wyverns, not dragons.
But this might be an unnecessary debate since wyverns are a “breed” of dragons — sort of like how bichon frises are to dogs.
These Game of Thrones theories seem to be getting out of hand. I hope April comes quickly.
Game of Thrones returns in April 2019, thank God!
