Marvel’s Runaways is likely to be renewed by Hulu for season 3

Hulu has some encouraging words for the fans of Marvel’s Runaways. 

At the TCA’s today Hulu hinted a renewal for their hit Marvel show could be coming. Deadline reports that content chief, Craig Erwich, had only positive things to say about Runaways. With Marvel shifting its content to Hulu, it seems like a renewal is in the cards for their first young adult-oriented show.

Erwich’s comments at the TCA’s sound like a third season announcement should happen soon.

"“We’re really happy with the performance of Runaways, both creatively and in terms of its performance, and we’ll have an announcement shortly.”"

The second season of Runaways had the titular group actually deal with running away. While some viewers were critical of the fact the show didn’t dive into some of the hardships of being homeless, the show was relatively well-reviewed. It’s light-hearted with a very likable diverse cast which appeals to younger viewers.

The series hails from Josh Schwartz and Stephanie Savage, the two minds behind some of the most popular young adult series. Schwartz and Savage worked on The O.C., Gossip Girl, Hart of Dixie, and the Dynasty remake.

If Runaways returns for another season, fans will want to know if it’s possible to see a crossover with Freeform’s Cloak & Dagger. Casts and creators have all expressed their desire to see the two shows have some kind of event episode but it’s unclear if it could even be possible.

The series has a large ensemble cast and if there’s a third season, it would be likely almost everyone if not everyone should be returning. Rhenzy Feliz, Allegra Acosta, Virginia Gardner, Gregg Sulkin, Ariela Barer, and Lyrica Okano play the teenagers. Meanwhile, Annie Wersching, Ryan Sands, Angel Parker, Ever Carradine, James Marsters, Kevin Weisman, Brigid Brannagh, James Yaegashi, Brittany Ishibashi, and Julian McMahon take on the parental roles.
