Penny Dreadful: City of Angels adds another star to its cast.

The sequel series to the hit Showtime show has found another lead with Halt and Catch Fire star, Kerry Bishé. Deadline reports she will star alongside the already cast Natalie Dormer and Daniel Zovatto in Penny Dreadful: City of Angels.

The new show won’t pick up right where the original left off, instead, it will be moving forward from the Victorian era of London to Los Angeles in 1983. Zovatto’s character, Detective Tiago Vega, is the one tasked with finding the culprit of a particularly disturbing murder. However, this case won’t be the only thing he deals with throughout Penny Dreadful: City of Angels. The show plans to explore Mexican-American myths, the history of Los Angeles, spies from the Third Reich, and the rising popularity of radio evangelism.

Bishé will be playing one of those radio evangelists named Sister Molly. Considering her profession, it shouldn’t come as a surprise that this character would be naturally charismatic with an ability to enrapture her audience. Not to mention, she also has a beautiful singing voice which would help her burgeoning radio career. Penny Dreadful: City of Angels will undoubtedly dive into some of the complexities of her life since fame always comes with a price.

While Kerry Bishé is most famously known for her leading role in Halt and Catch Fire as Donna Emerson, she’s been booking some more high profile roles recently. She had a starring role in Narcos season 3 as Christina Jurado and was featured in an episode of Amazon’s The Romanoffs.
