Whiskey Cavalier cast and fans react to cancellation

Whiskey Cavalier won’t live to see another day—at least not at ABC.

Whiskey Cavalier fans and cast members were taken by surprise when ABC made the decision to not renew the dramedy for another season on Sunday. Amongst these fans, I was just as heartbroken and upset because the series made its mark with just one season, and I’m not entirely sure what brought ABC execs to make this move.

Well, we know it’s the ratings, but it’s always hard to compare the ratings to the fandom that exists. If so many people are in love with the show, why are the ratings so low? Where are these fans when the show needs them?!

Upon news of the cancellation, Deadline and TVLine (amongst many other outlets) began sharing the news and cast reactions. If you’re looking for a heartbreaking reaction, no one beats Scott Foley’s wife, Marika Dominczyk, who was a guest star on the series and absolutely crushed by the news. It’s pretty freaking sad, so you might want to grab a tissue box.

But Whiskey Cavalier fans, don’t lose all hope just yet. According to Deadline, the series may live to see another day if it’s picked up by another network. It’s currently being shopped around, so let’s cross our fingers for some good news!  In the meantime, we can get by with the emotional cast reactions all over social media.

We’re putting our hopes and faith into Warner Bros. TV to give Whiskey Cavalier life elsewhere despite the declining ratings it had since its series premiere. We simply cannot imagine life without the adventures of Will (Scott Foley), Frankie (Lauren Cohan), and the rest of their team who have a special place in all of our hearts. #SaveWhiskeyCavalier

Now, the question remains—how will the series end?
