Veronica Mars character refresher: Who’s returning to Neptune for the revival?
Veronica Mars — “Keep Calm and Party On” – Episode 403 — Veronica and KeithÕs client, Daniel Maloof, makes a shocking confession. Sheriff Langdon closes in on her top suspect. Dick Casablancas
Is it clear what Dick is actually doing as an adult? Absolutely not but we’re just going to assume he’s still just typical ‘ol Dick Casablancas. Ryan Hansen is charming as a character who could be absolutely awful, especially considering he constantly attempted to drug his girlfriend in high school and bullied everyone. Nevertheless, Logan’s best friend and Neptune’s resident party boy will return for the revival as well.
In the movie, we learn he’s still living with Logan and spending most of his days surfing. The trailer teases that Dick views himself as the “King of Springbreak” so the bombings might put a damper on his party mood.
Veronica Mars — “Heads You Lose” – Episode 404 — Convinced the bomber is still at large, Veronica visits Chino to learn more about Clyde and Big Dick. Mayor Dobbins’ request for help from the FBI brings an old flame to Neptune. Veronica confronts her mugger. Leo D’Amato (Max Greenfield), shown. (Photo by: Michael Desmond/Hulu)
Leo D’Amato
If Veronica Mars is planning to continue the tradition of a love triangle, then Max Greenfield’s Leo is probably the one who’s going to fight for Veronica’s attention in this season. In the original series, it seemed like Leo was actually going to stick around for a while to be in a love triangle with Duncan and Veronica. However, their romance was cut short mainly because the age difference between himself and Veronica was a little weird and that Logan was far more popular anyways.
Nevertheless, the two remain friends throughout the series before he leaves the Neptune Police Department. The movie checks in with his character, where he’s his usual goofy and reliable self. Now working as a detective in San Diego, he happily assists Veronica with her investigation as per usual. However, if the revival does see Leo become a romantic rival for Logan, I think it’s safe to say Max Greenfield will have his work cut out for him to win over fans.
