Marvel makes a return to San Diego Comic-Con with a whole slate of Phase 4 premiere dates.

With Phase 3 coming to an end, Marvel has begun unveiling its schedule for the future. At SDCC, the comic book giant revealed the premiere dates for its upcoming Disney+ shows that will heavily tie into the current MCU.

First to debut will be The Falcon and the Winter Soldier, a series focused on a story between the two titular characters. Anthony Mackie is reprising his role as The Falcon, although the series will most likely follow his transition into the new Captain America. Sebastian Stan is also back as the Winter Soldier to help his friend take down Baron Zemo (Daniel Bruhl, returning for the role from Captain America: Civil War). The series is expected in Fall 2020.

WandaVision will be next but the details have been pretty scarce. Elizabeth Olsen and Paul Bettany are both confirmed to be back for the Marvel series. While it was earlier teased that the show would take place in the 1950s, Kevin Feige denied this at SDCC. He said the series will follow the events of Avengers: Endgame and lead into the next Doctor Strange film. However, the big news that came out of the panel was that an adult Monica Rambeau (seen as a child in Captain Marvel) would be joining the cast. Teyonnah Paris is set to take on the role.  The show is planned to drop in Spring 2021.

Details about what the Loki series will be about are also sparse however Tom Hiddleston will return to play the beloved trickster. Considering Loki died in Avengers: Endgame it will be interesting to see how Marvel handles his return. The series is set to debut in Spring 2021.

A What If? animated show will hit Disney+ as well with Jeffrey Wright (Westworld) taking on the voice of “The Watcher”. His character will provide commentary for some pivotal moments in the MCU. The series will hit the streaming service in Summer 2021.

Finally, Hawkeye is the last Marvel show to be announced for the new streaming service. Jeremy Renner will be picking up his bow for the final (?) time. Clint will be training his protege, Kate Bishop, to pick up the Hawkeye mantle as he prepares to retire. There has been no word on who will be cast to play the fan-favorite Bishop but hopefully, we’ll hear soon. The series is expected to debut in Fall 2021.
