Physical: Rose Byrne set to star in 80’s Apple dramedy
Rose Byrne returns to a starring television role for Apple’s upcoming series.
The Damages actress has booked her next television role! Deadline reports Rose Byrne is set to lead the new Apple series, Physical. While the series hasn’t officially been ordered to series, apparently Apple is very close to securing a deal for the new show.
Set in the 1980s, the series will revolve around Byrne’s character, who is an unsatisfied housewife in Southern California. However, she discovers her new passion and a way for her to gain more recognition: aerobics. The show is described as a dramedy, and based on the description should be filled with laughs.
Annie Weisman (the creator of FOX’s Almost Family), Alexandra Cunningham (Dear John), and Tomorrow Studies are in charge of the project. Weisman is set to both serve as a showrunner and a writer on the series.
Rose Byrne has risen to fame in her film career as well as her starring role in FX’s critically acclaimed show, Damages. She can soon be seen in the upcoming role on FX’s Mrs. America with Cate Blanchett and the Jon Stewart political comedy Irresistible. Byrne is also well known for her role in FOX’s X-Men films as Moira MacTaggert and the Insidious series.
It is unclear when Physical would debut and there is currently no other cast members set to join the show. Check back here for more updates regarding the Apple series.
