Upload Season 2: Amazon renews comedy, find out whose returning

Upload Season 2 is officially coming to Amazon Prime Video in the future! The streaming service has renewed its successful new comedy series.
Amazon Prime has given former The Office showrunner Greg Daniels the green light for Upload Season 2. The renewal, reported by The Hollywood Reporter, comes just one week after the sci-fi comedy series premiered on Amazon Prime Video.
The series is yet the year 2033. It follows Robbie Amell’s character Nathan, who gets injured in a self-driving car accident and decides to upload his consciousness into a virtual afterlife shared by his girlfriend’s family.
While there, Nathan begins to bond with Nora, the customer service angel who is assigned to help him acclimate to his new home.
“I am thrilled to continue a great relationship with Amazon Studios and this wonderful cast and find out what happens next to Nora and Nathan and Ingrid and their 2033 world,” said Daniels in a statement.

His sentiment was echoed by Amazon Studios head Jennifer Salke, who added that she was excited to continue collaborating with Daniels in the future on what she deems a “smart, cinematic comedy crackling with intrigue.”
It is much too early to tell what the plot might be of Upload Season 2, but the early renewal should give fans confidence that Amazon has faith in the series.
Previous comedies like Forever and The Tick were axed relatively quickly by the streaming service, or they took much longer to make a decision.
It’s a good sign when a renewal decision is made fast, and Upload has been a highly talked about series on social media throughout this past week.
We don’t yet know how many episodes to expect from Upload Season 2, either. Still, it does appear we can anticipate seeing Amell, Andy Allo, and Allegra Edwards return to fulfill their roles as Nathan, Nora, and Ingrid.
