The Good Fight Season 5 has officially been given the green light at CBS All Access. So fans of the series need not worry about the show’s future.
CBS All Access has ordered more of The Good Fight, which isn’t too surprising considering the fourth season got cut short after only a few episodes. The Good Fight Season 5 is officially ordered for the streaming service, which should alleviate any concerns from show fans.
The series, which is a spin-off of the long-running The Good Wife, is currently in the middle of airing its fourth season, even though production was cut short due to the ongoing halt in production, according to the press release. It will conclude with its seventh episode, which is set to air on Thursday, May 28.
Julie McNamara, the Executive Vice President and Head of Programming at CBS All Access added that they continue to have confidence in the series, which they deem to be one of the most beloved and critically-acclaimed on the platform. Season four was originally intended to be a normal ten-episode season, but due to circumstances beyond their control, it had to be cut short.

The fourth season of the series sees Reddick, Boseman and Lockhart navigating a different landscape than they’re used to after they lose their biggest client and have the founding partner’s name tarnished.
Diane Lockhart is unsettled by the loss of the firm’s independence. The series also features a new mystery with the investigation of “Memo 618.”
Season four of The Good Fight featured series regulars Christine Baranski, Cush Jumbo, Nyambi Nyambi, Sarah Steele, John Larroquette, Zach Grenier, Michael Boatman and Delroy Lindo. Hugh Dancy also joined the cast in a recurring role.
It is not yet clear what direction The Good Fight Season 5 will go or which cast members will return, more information will likely come to light after the Season 4 finale.
“It’s been weird to not be able to finish the fourth season. It left the story in an even more absurd a place than usual. So we’re thrilled that CBS All Access wants to bring ‘The Good Fight’ back for an additional season, and we know what story we’re planning to tell. It’s like getting the answers to the SAT ahead of time,” said Robert and Michelle King.
