Emmys 2020: The Great and 5 incredible Elle Fanning performances you probably missed
By Mads Lennon
Five incredible Elle Fanning performances you might have missed.
She might only be 22-years-old but Elle Fanning has proven herself a force to be reckoned with. In the beginning, Elle was often overshadowed by her famous sister Dakota, but over the years she has created her own image and delivered enough incredible performances to be a fantastic actress on her own merit.
In just a few short weeks, the 2020 Emmy Award nominations will be announced and we’re hoping that Elle will make the list for her fantastic work on Hulu’s historical — and we use that word loosely — comedy series, The Great, based on the life of Catherine the Great.

We’ve had a few versions of Catherine’s story told over the years, including one by Helen Mirren, but Hulu’s series is distinctly unique and downright hilarious.
Much of that can be attributed to its stars, Elle Fanning and Nicholas Hoult. Before then, there are a few other performances from Elle that you might have missed out on over the years.
5. Elle Fanning as V in Twixt
Twixt is an odd little horror film directed by Francis Ford Coppola. Aside from Elle, it stars Val Kilmer, Bruce Dern, and Ben Chaplin. Overall, the film is not my favorite, but Elle is great in it as a ghost girl named Virginia, or “V.”
She plays the ghost of a murdered girl who becomes obsessed with a new string of child murders. Aside from Elle’s ethereal performance, the movie looks gorgeous, even if it is tonally inconsistent.
