Magic of Disney’s Animal Kingdom will charm children and adults alike
Enter Disney’s Animal Kingdom and meet interesting animals and the cast members who care for them every day.
With so many options on Disney Plus, it may become overwhelming. Which is why when I found the National Geographic docuseries Magic of Disney’s Animal Kingdom I was relieved and instantly engrossed.
Narrated by delightful Josh Gad, the docuseries has currently released four episodes each around 40 mins. Each episode centers around the goings-on in mostly Animal Kingdom with a few stops in EPCOT at The Seas with Nemo & Friends aquarium.
What is Magic of Disney’s Animal Kingdom about?
As Animal Kingdom is my absolute favorite Disney park for its calming environment, fantastic attractions and the plethora of beautiful animals I knew I would love this Disney Plus series.

On the surface this may look like another typical animal documentary or animal rescue type show but it is far more than that.
While, yes we get to watch animals both familiar and unfamiliar, we also get to witness the love, care and dedication behind the cast members/animal keepers/veterinarians who work at Animal Kingdom.
It is fascinating to see how the animals work well amongst themselves and the cast members/animal keepers/veterinarians as we watch situations where Gino a silverback western lowland gorilla enjoys his birthday cake with his family, Darby a spotted eagle ray gives birth and babirusas Betty and Mentari come together to create piglets.
In between the stories occurring in each episode we get to see brief shots of Animal Kingdom and the aquarium at The Seas with Nemo & Friends. Even in those brief moments, you feel like you are in the parks with the guests.
The episodes are educational and uplifting, something children and adults will enjoy together. Every piece of information cast members/animal keepers/veterinarians provide is engaging and a perfect blend with Josh Gad’s informative yet whimsical tone.
The animals have such unique and charming personalities that we often forget how similar they can be to their human caretakers. It is simply a magical experience to watch.
If you are interested in animals, Disney or both like myself this show will absolutely entertain you, leaving you wanting to know even more about the animals and dreaming of your next Disney trip to see them in person.
