8. Brooklyn Nine-Nine

Like Lucifer, Brooklyn Nine-Nine was canceled by Fox and then rescued by another network, in this case, NBC. It made complete sense for NBC to save B99 because it was co-created by Mike Schur, who also helmed the acclaimed comedy The Good Place, co-created Parks & Recreation and previously worked as a writer and producer on The Office.

Thankfully, NBC revived new life into the sitcom, and it continued for another three seasons. Now the series is officially coming to an end with its upcoming eighth and final season, but at least it’s now on their terms!

7. Scream Queens

One might think that Fox would let Ryan Murphy do anything considering how many projects they have from him (and at FX), but that wasn’t the case for Scream Queens. The series was a comedy slasher television with many notable television stars, many of whom have appeared in Murphy’s other projects like Glee or American Horror Story.

The show starred people like Emma Roberts, Jamie Lee Curtis, Billie Lourd, Ariana Grande, Lea Michele, Niecy Nash, Keke Palmer, Abigail Breslin and more. It was a fun, campy series that seemed to embrace Murphy’s strengths as a storyteller. While he can’t always keep a plot on the straight and narrow in AHS, he could get away with it here.

But while Scream Queens gained a lot of traction on social media, it didn’t secure the ratings Fox would have liked. However, last year, Ryan Murphy said he was working on a third season, so who knows?
