These are the questions from Moon Knight Season 1 we hope get answered in the near future.

The Disney Plus and Marvel Studios Moon Knight season 1 has come to a close. But that doesn’t mean fans don’t have a lot of questions that need to be answered.

The six-episode season, ended on a high note as both Arthur Harrow and Ammit are defeated, Marc’s duties as Moon Knight are over (or are they?), and fans finally got to see Jake Lockley in the flesh during the end credit scene. But throughout the series that combines action, adventure and characteristics of a thriller, there was a lot left opened ended.

Listed in no particular order, let’s dive into five questions we have after the completion of Moon Knight season 1. Before going forward, spoilers ahead for those who have not caught up with the show.

Moon Knight question: Will there be a Season 2?

Perhaps the main question of everyone’s mind is will Moon Knight get a second season? Was this meant to be a limited series?

Is a second season still on the table? Will Moon Knight instead get a Marvel movie?

Will Moon Knight make a cameo in a Marvel movie? For some time, fans assumed this was to be a limited series on Disney Plus.

However, as the final episodes aired, it was announced as a season finale not series finale. In the meantime, we are going to keep our eyes open and stay vigilant for any news or updates.

Moon Knight question: How did Marc meet Layla?

Just when Steven couldn’t become more confused about his life, he realizes his other identity is a man named Marc Spector who is married to a woman named Layla. Steven is almost immediately smitten by her and we’re thinking the feeling may be mutual.

Layla and Marc’s relationship isn’t explained too heavily aside from the fact that they both have stubborn personalities, and both love each other very much. It pains Marc to consider divorce so that he could protect her from Khonshu.

We later find out that Marc was present when Layla’s father, along with several other archaeologists are killed in Egypt. With all of those details flying around we’re a little bit surprised the series doesn’t explain how they met.

Is this something we’ll find out later or did the show simply deem it not important to the overall plot and thus there is no answer to be found?

Moon Knight question: Is Marc still Moon Knight?

As the latter half of the season progressed, we learned that Marc is less than happy about his mercenary life and Khonshu is merely a step away from being a villain himself. Even Layla knew how much Marc was suffering due to Khonshu.

Before Marc and Steven agree to stop Ammit they make a deal with Khonshu that when it’s all over, the debt has been paid. Khonshu agrees to let them both go but we find out during the season finale end credit scene that Marc’s third identity Jake Lockley is working for Khonshu!

Does this mean Marc and Steven will be riding along as Jake does Khonshu’s bidding? Was Jake’s mission to kill Arthur Harrow the last time he’ll be working for Khonshu?

Will Jake become the new Moon Knight and if so, what will his costume look like? We have a feeling that Marc’s troubles with Khonshu are just beginning.

Moon Knight question: Are Marc and Layla still together?

Steven takes it upon himself to reveal to Layla why Marc wanted to divorce her. While she probably forgave Marc at that point another revelation may have said otherwise.

Even though she suspected it, she demands Marc tell her how her father died. Marc reveals what happened, which also lead to him becoming Moon Knight.

Layla never officially forgives Marc but after the two battle and defeat Arthur Harrow and Ammit we’d like to assume she somehow did. Even if she hates Marc, she likes Steven and the two are kind of a one package deal.

At the end of the season finale Layla is nowhere to be found in Steven’s apartment. So are they back together or did they decide to officially part ways?

We don’t know. We’d like to hope they are still together and will try to figure out how make the relationship work.

But will everything become even more complicated now that Jake Lockley is around?

Moon Knight question: Will we see Moon Knight interact with other Marvel characters?

One of, in our opinion, strengths of the series was that it could stand alone without having to make references to other Marvel films, characters or the like. Be honest, if the series did not have the Marvel name attached to it, you’d think it was just a newly created superhero.

We don’t know what year it is. Marc is never approached by anyone Marvel-specific after Ammit and Arthur Harrow are defeated.

We don’t even see how the final battle affects the world outside of Egypt. Does this mean Moon Knight will remain its own entity apart from the rest of the Marvel universe?

Or will he somehow appear alongside other characters in a future project? It could be that the ones who make those decisions at Disney and Marvel haven’t decided yet.

But we’re curious, would you rather Moon Knight not have another Marvel tie-in? Or do you want to see him battling alongside other Marvel characters?
