These are the questions from Moon Knight Season 1 we hope get answered in the near future.

Moon Knight season 1 concluded last week on Disney Plus. Since then we shared some of the questions we had after the season finale credits rolled.

Is it really that surprising that since the season finale we had even more questions on our minds? Questions like how Arthur Harrow possessed Ammit’s powers and is Jake Lockley the last of Marc’s identities?

Listed in no particular order, we compiled the following five questions below. Before going forward, spoilers ahead for those who have not caught up with the show.

Moon Knight question: How did Arthur Harrow become Khonshu’s avatar?

Arthur Harrow is not your typical Marvel villain. Yes, he’s a smooth talker with a calm demeanor and absolutely believes he’s the hero but he’s more than a man with powers and a loyal cult.

His reasons for using the powers of Ammit to rid the world of evil before it takes root makes sense once we learn why he’s so damaged. He was once Khonshu’s avatar.

Does this mean he was once Moon Knight himself? We don’t know.

Harrow once served Khonshu, somehow escaped and the experience is what made him the man he is today. But when did all this happen?

Why was Harrow chosen by Khonshu? How did Harrow escape?

The series does not provide audiences with any exposition into Harrow’s past, only the present.

Moon Knight question: How and why was Jake Lockley created?

Moon Knight pulled the ultimate act of misdirection by starting the series with Steven Grant and his life. But we later find out that Steven is but an identity of Marc.

He was solely created to protect Marc from his mother’s constant abuse. Steven has been present in Marc’s life since childhood, but we suspect that he was less present once Marc left home.

Even though his father begged him to stay Marc couldn’t handle his mother’s cruelty. It wasn’t until his mother passed away that Marc started losing control and Steven emerged more often.

As heartbreaking as this all sounds, it makes sense. What isn’t clear is when Marc’s third identity Jake Lockley appears.

Jake’s existence was hinted at several times throughout the season, but we didn’t meet him until the season finale end credit scene. When was Jake created and for what reason?

One of our theories is that he only seemed to emerge when Marc and Steven were caught in a vicious fight they couldn’t escape. Jake tends to have more violent tendencies than the other two, so was Marc caught in a life of death situation before the series started?

Moon Knight question: How did Arthur Harrow obtain Ammit’s powers?

When we meet Arthur Harrow, he already possesses Ammit’s powers. He’s able to determine if someone is good or not thanks to his cane and a scale upon his arm.

But how did this happen? Marc Spector was able to become Moon Knight because he makes a deal with Khonshu, who technically speaking, is alive and present.

Ammit was a stone statue, buried within the mouth of her last avatar, Alexander the Great. So then how was Harrow using her powers the entire season?

How did he obtain them to begin with? We can assume Ammit chose Harrow because he was once Khonshu’s avatar.

Her decision to choose him may stem from that fact that the season finale sort of implied there was history between the two Egyptian deities. Other than that, we really don’t know nor understand how this was possible.

Moon Knight question: Does Marc Spector have more identities?

We learn that by the end of season 1 Marc Spector has two other identities; Steven Grant and Jake Lockley. But is that all of them or does he have more we haven’t seen yet?

We know how Steven Grant was created, and while Jake Lockley’s creation is mere guess work at this point, we can guarantee its due to more sustained trauma. Marc’s life had always been traumatic and you can bet becoming a mercenary didn’t help the situation.

He may have escaped his mother’s cruelty at home but who knows what horrific things he saw and did as both a mercenary and when he became Moon Knight. We saw the room of bodies that represent the people Marc killed.

Could it be that more identities will emerge because of this? Or now that because Marc is no longer Moon Knight and beginning his recovery through acceptance, he’ll no longer need to create new identities in order to get by.

Moon Knight question: Will Marc rekindle his relationship with his father?

One of the tragic aspects of Marc’s childhood is that his father tried to keep the peace in his household. He knows Randall’s death was an accident, either probably already forgave Marc or is making the efforts to, and simply wants his family to move on.

Marc’s mother however makes that impossible as she uses every opportunity to torment Marc. While we don’t know if Marc’s father knew of Steven Grant’s existence, he did know how his wife was affecting their son.

Yet we don’t see any efforts of him trying to solve the issue. Was family therapy not an option?

Was sending his wife away to properly recover not an option? Regardless, Marc leaves home, despite his father’s pleas and we really don’t see Marc interact with his father much until his mother dies.

Now that Marc can accept his past, accept Steven and find peace within himself, will he make any attempt to visit his father? Does he have some hidden anger towards his father for what happened?

We’re hoping, for Marc’s sake, the two can rekindle their relationship.
