8 Predictions for the final episodes of Fear the Walking Dead
By Shay McBryde
Fear the Walking Dead will be coming back to our screens a little later this year. The first 6 episodes just wrapped, and the first block of the season was mainly about Mo and Morgan with the exception of a little Dwight, Sherry, and Grace.
We left off finally wrapping up the story of PADRE and the sad demise of Grace, followed by Morgan and Mo venturing out onto their own in search of Rick Grimes and the rest of his old family that he ran away from so many years ago. While there is no return date for the back half of season 8, here are 8 predicted events that could happen when the gang returns.
8. Where did Althea go?
In my opinion Al was one of the more interesting characters introduced in Fear the Walking Dead and she seems to be off the map. No explanation yet or word about her whereabouts.
I predict there will be some type of conclusion as to where she went. And I believe that is somewhere CRM-related.
With the mention of Rick Grimes already a few times in season 8, I believe Al will play into something in the future story of The Walking Dead.
7. Resolution for Sherry and Dwight
Losing a child is one of the hardest things a parent can ever go through. We have seen this in The Walking Dead with Ezekiel and Carol.
Sometimes parents can never get on the same page again after that kind of loss. Dwight and Sherry have been through so much, on top of what they went through with Negan.
Unlike Carol and Ezekiel, I don’t think this will be the end for them. I don’t think Dwight and Sherry will get back together but they will have a poetic ending.
6. Troy will return
Fans have been speculating the return of Troy for some time now. His chair has even been spotted on set.
The teaser at the end of episode 6 shows Madison going after someone with gusto. I believe that will be Troy and I think Madison will once again be his final downfall.
5. The reunion of Strand and Madison
It’s one of the reunions fans have been waiting on and a shame it has taken this long. These two undoubtedly have the best relationship on the show and have the most highly anticipated reunion.
We know it will happen. It’s an easy prediction but one that deserves mentioning either way.
Both Strand and Madison have had some shaky moral compasses lately, so it should be great television to see these lost people find their way back to each other.
4. Madison takes the reigns back to become the shows leader
Madison will finally have control of the show with Morgan out of the way. That’s the way it always should have been.
Morgan has been a nice treat for The Walking Dead fans, but it also feels like this show has lost its footing for a long time. It’s time for her to run the show and finish out what was always hers.
It has always been about the Clark family, and I hope they can give the fans a satisfying ending, especially for those who started this show.
3. Madison will commit to her promise to Mo
Madison will fulfill her promise to Mo and reunite some of the families that she tore apart. Fans know Madison has a long way to go before her karma can be balanced.
The leader has done some questionable things since losing everything she had, or so she thought. It took Morgan and Mo to get her to realize she could be a better person.
A person her kids could still be proud of. The balance will shift in her favor when she holds true to her promise to Mo, to wrong her right and reunite as many kids with their parents as she can.
2. Madison will join another spinoff
Fear the Walking Dead will not be the end of the road for Madison Clark. And whether Alicia returns or doesn’t, won’t mark the end of the line.
Whatever journey Alicia was on, she could be the one who finishes it. In The Walking Dead we presumably heard Alicia’s voice on the radio around the time Rick Grimes was taken.
This could very well be a connection the Clark’s have in the future to the CRM and Summit (the Rick and Michonne spinoff). It was stated that Madison was originally from Georgia.
She could even come across Mo and Morgan, who are in search for Rick at the moment. Seeing the likes of Madison Clark and Rick Grimes on the same screen would be a cup overflowing situation for TWDU.
1. The return of Alicia and reunion with Madison
I think this is something that has to happen in the finale. It seems unusually cruel to bring Madison back to then not reunite with her living daughter, even though Madison does not know she is alive.
I do predict all this work Madison is doing to right her wrongs is going to bring good her way. In the same way that Dwight redeemed himself and got a happy ending for awhile.
The same should hold true with Madison. Fear the Walking Dead may or may not end on a happy note.
But the showrunners have got to know this is what the fans want and deserve. It would be like ending The Walking Dead completely without Rick seeing Judith.
Though they do have a history of falling flat, I believe this will happen before the curtains close.
