Norman Reedus reveals some awesome new details about his spinoff
By Shay McBryde
Norman Reedus has revealed some astounding new details about The Walking Dead Daryl Dixon that will have some fans screaming for more. The new spinoff for The Walking Dead is sure to leave fans on the edge of their seats with what AMC has in store for the show and for TWDU.
EW has revealed through an interview with the star that the first episode of the show, which will be shown at the San Diego Comic-Con fan event on Friday, July 21, will be showing off Daryl’s first journey through France. The first 20 minutes of episode one will be airing in Hall H at 1:00PM PT.
We’ll be taking a visual stroll through the coastal towns and bridges. We see Daryl’s eyes light up at the fascinating sight of the Eiffel Tower.
Not the same tower we are all used to, but it is still an astute visualization, nonetheless.

Due to the WGA and SAG-AFTRA strike there will be no panels and no actors joining SDCC this year. All the teasers we have seen from TWD: Daryl Dixon have been clips of Daryl Dixon making his way through the countryside of France, to a destination that will lead him to nuns that we saw in one of the teasers.
Daryl will be in a confused state in an unknown land. Not sure how he got there, where he is, or what he is about to do next.
The show will set sails on September 10 on AMC and AMC+. Reedus reveals that we will see many of the famous landmarks that France has to offer in the surrounding Paris area.
There is so much beauty the country has in store for fans. Norman has also revealed this will be the highest of the unknown for his character.
He’ll be coming into a place where he doesn’t know how to speak the language. It’s a reset in a place he did not expect to be and has to figure out his surroundings rather quickly.
Not only having does he have to figure out a way to survive but he also must figure out how he’s going to get back home.
"“We’re in the Catacombs, we’re in the Louvre, we’re all over the place. So that French countryside scope and that backdrop changes into different backdrops of insane magnitude.” -Norman Reedus “We’re in the Catacombs, we’re in the Louvre, we’re all over the place. Daryl will not be alone on his journey. He will run into a boy named Laurent (Louis Puech Scigliuzzi), an 11-year old born just as “the hungry ones” (whom the French call walkers) arrived in France.
He grew up in an abbey protected by the nuns and said to be a child wise beyond his years. It does seem that Daryl Dixon takes him under his wing and shows him some insight on how to survive this world.
Laurent is somewhat of a sheltered boy, which in a way gives the Henry and Daryl vibes we got from earlier seasons of The Walking Dead. Speaking of nuns, there seems to be no shortage of those.
Clémence Poésy will be playing a character named Isabelle, who is apparently a “smart” and “headstrong nun capable of protecting herself” and those around her. There will be many things Daryl Dixon will have to figure out in this upcoming spinoff, but one thing is for sure, he’s going to be worlds away in vicinities that we never expected from this redneck archer.
It will be intriguing to see how he escapes danger in a land he has no business being in. Check in with us at ShowSnob for further updates on TWD: Daryl Dixon!
