It’s time to go back to the cottage because Heated Rivalry is finally getting a physical release! Plus, fans can also expect a special collector’s edition that’s loaded with extras and goodies.
The series, which follows rising hockey stars (and secret lovers) Shane Hollander and Ilya Rozanov, became a runaway hit at the end of 2025, scoring massive views for Crave in Canada and HBO Max in the US. By the start of 2026, the series was one of the most talked-about shows in the world. That means lots of fans are probably excited to check out the physical release of the show’s first season.
We previously reported back in June that a physical release had been announced, but we’ve finally got official dates to share. The DVD and Blu-ray are hitting shelves on October 20, and the special collector’s edition is arriving just in time for the holidays on November 24. Better yet, pre-orders are already open.
Heated Rivalry season 1 skates onto DVD & Blu-ray this October
First up will be the DVD and Blu-ray release of Heated Rivalry season 1. Both the DVD and Blu-ray releases will be double-disc and come complete with special features like a blooper reel and deleted scenes. The DVD will be high-quality standard definition, while the Blu-ray plays at a glistening 1080p with DTS-HD master audio.
“We’re incredibly grateful to the fans who have embraced our show wholeheartedly and have been watching and rewatching it since its premiere,” said creator Jacob Tierney in a statement. “In many ways, the DVD release felt like the natural next step. Knowing that fans can own a piece of the series and give it a place in their collection means a great deal to us.”
The collector’s edition will be a must-have holiday gift
For fans who really want something to show off, the special collector’s edition, which is launching November 24, is going to be a must-have. The collector’s edition will arrive in a retro VHS-style package, and inside, Hallnov fans will find tons of goodies, like collectible art cards, a double-sided poster, and a hockey puck stress reliever.
The show itself will be presented on four Blu-ray discs, and on top of all six season 1 episodes, there’s going to be tons of extra bonus features. Just like the DVD release, fans can check out deleted scenes and a blooper reel. But the collector’s edition will also have a behind-the-scenes featurette, creator commentary from Jacob Tierney, and interviews with the cast and crew about creating the show and the impact it's had.
According to the official statement from Crave, pre-orders for the DVD, Blu-ray, and the collector’s edition are already live. After scrolling through the internet, it seems that pre-orders are indeed already live at numerous retailers, including Barnes & Noble, Amazon, and Movies Unlimited. Some independent record stores and entertainment shops—like Culture Clash in Ohio (which has become an unofficial Heated Rivalry hub for fans)—also have pre-orders available, and many of them ship nationally.
