The season 3 finale of My Adventures with Superman is finally here, and the fight for the future has never been more dire. Audiences have been treated to an action-packed season, and the finale doesn't hold any punches.
After the shocking villain reveal in episode 9, Superman and his friends are going up against a foe unlike any other.
Clark learns how to recover his powers
In the Fortress of Solitude, Clark is about to be killed by the Brainiac bots. But right before he can be stabbed, the Super clone blasts the bots away. The clone is still under the influence of the bots, with his eyes glowing red and his anger surging, but Clark is able to calm him down. They hug, but the bot asks why Clark intervened. Clark explains that the clone needed his help and that no one had to die. The bot realizes that Clark's mercy and empathy are actually his strengths. Clark still wants to recover his powers and asks who sent the visions to him if it wasn't the bots.
Brainiac takes Clark deeper into the Fortress. He explains that Krypton was powered by Rao, a living sun. While Rao is now dead, he has many children, one who is powering the Fortress. This living sun will be able to give Clark his powers back, but it could also destroy him.
Lex has a plan to save the day
Jon wakes up to see the battlefield obliterated by the Eradicator. The humans' forces call against the new threats. Even Lara and Supergirl are unable to stand a chance against the new threats. Lara is holding out hope for when Superman returns, but Jon snaps that he won't come back. The fight for the future rests on their shoulders alone, and he and Lara are not enough to save everyone. Supergirl emerges from the rubble and tells them to keep trying and get back in the fight.
On the ground, Waller orders a mass strike against the Eradicator and his clone, but nothing works. With a wave of his hand, the Eradicator wipes out many of the troops. Before the clone can charge onto the humans, Supergirl holds him off. The clone taunts her by saying she was never enough to beat him, that he is evolved and she is not. She throws him into the sky, and together, she and the Kent kids attack the clone. With a blow to the chest, the clone dissipates into dust. But the Eradicator isn't defeated yet. He snaps his fingers, and Waller's machine troops turn on the humans.
Waller calls for an immediate retreat, turning her back on the Kryptonians. Lois calls her out, but Waller won't budge on her decision. Lara and Jon are overrun with the robotic troops, and Lois refuses to leave them to die. Luthor and Jimmy are escorted into a helicopter, but Lex thinks he has a way to stop the Eradicator.
Before he can reveal his plan, the helicopter is shot down, and they crash back on the battlefield. They stumble out of the wreckage, but Slade is waiting for them. Waller has given him orders to bring in Luthor and Jimmy, but Slade covers for the two. Lex apologizes for how he's acted and says that Slade was right about everything, but the mercenary doesn't want to hear it. For now, they've made peace, but there's still a battle to win.
Superman returns
While they may have defeated the clone, Kara and the kids are no match for the Eradicator. He easily overpowers them and creates five more clones with the wave of his finger. The Kryptonians are outnumbered and easily picked off by the stronger enemies. Jimmy watches from afar and tells Lex to hurry up on his invention.
Right before a clone can kill Supergirl, a strange electricity takes over the clone. Lex has created a headpiece that can control the clones, like what he initially planned. Lex is able to turn the clones against the Eradicator, but the villain has the stronger mind. He infiltrates Lex's mind and is able to grow in his power.
Lois runs to Jonathon, who is injured on the battlefield. He feels like he failed, but Lois tells him that she was the one to fail him. He says that she was the best thing about his terrible future, and they hug each other right before a clone blasts them. But there's suddenly a flash of yellow, and Superman stands before them. He's dressed in Kryptonian armor, his powers regained. His family reunites with him, telling them all that he's here now.
The Eradicator stands before them with a new batch of clones. Superman and his family, including the Super Clone, all gear up for a fight. If they work together, the Super Gang can defeat the threats. Each Super takes on a clone, fighting with new ferocity. When they seem defeated, Kara and the kids unlock a new surge of power that helps them destroy the clones. But the fight between Superman and the Eradicator isn't as easy, and Superman is overpowered by Lex's creation.
When the Eradicator tries to take Superman out, Clark gains his new power surge and batters the Eradicator. The monster returns to his original form, finally defeated once and for all.
With the battle won, it's time for the kids to return to their time. Jon asks how they know the future will be better, and Lois tells him that they're going to keep fighting for the future the kids deserve. The family hugs, and Lara disappears back to their own timeline.
Life returns to normal
The future is saved, and life can go back to normal. Jimmy and Kara go out for ice cream to celebrate the win and his new business endeavor. He has started investing in W.O,R,M.S., the science-based dating website. Kara asks if he's still using that dating app, but he says he's not anymore. He wants to spend more time together to work on their relationship, but Kara thinks it's still a friendship.
Lex has been arrested for his part in the Eradicator's creation and is being escorted into his cell by Waller. Before she locks him in, Waller asks what made Lex create the monster. Lex reveals that he had downloaded data from a satellite that showed him how vast and dangerous the universe was. He says that he wanted to feel safe again and was willing to create whatever he needed to ensure that. He's locked into his cell, leaving Waller to feel as unsettled as he was.
Back on the farm, Kara and Jimmy play fetch with Krypto. Lois had adopted the dog from the shelter to add to the farm. Lois asks Clark how he got his powers back, and he reveals that he made a deal. She asked what it cost him, but he evades by saying it wasn't more than he was willing to pay. Lois reveals that she has a present for Clark and shows him miniature figures of the two of them. Inside is a ring, and Lois asks Clark to marry her. Clark accepts.
While My Adventures with Superman season 4 has not been announced yet, it's likely that Superman and his friends will return again. Jimmy and Kara's relationship still needs to be developed, with Jimmy first working on being a better friend to her. With a future wedding in store, fans will be eager to see the installation of the show.
