Get ready to pack your bags and leave the Arconia in the New York City for a trip across the pond. Only Murders in the Building season 6 has officially set its take-off date for London, and thankfully, it's before the year comes to an end. Mark your calendars for a UK holiday with Charles, Oliver, Mabel, and their latest murder mystery.
While Only Murders in the Building fans have become accustomed to new seasons making their premiere on Hulu annually during the summer months, the sixth season began on something of a delay. Being so, the new episodes are getting a later-than-normal premiere date, but we don't have to worry about a potential delay into 2027.
Only Murders in the Building season 6 premieres in December 2026
After months of speculation on when the award-winning comedy would return, Hulu announced that Only Murders in the Building season 6 premieres on Tuesday, Dec. 8, 2026. The streaming service hasn't shared how many episodes will drop with the premiere, though based on previous season debuts, two or three episodes could arrive on the season 6 premiere date. What's more, the season likely won't wrap up until sometime in January or February 2027 depending on the release schedule.
To announce the Only Murders in the Building season 6 premiere date, Hulu partnered with 3D creator Victor de Martrin to produce a clever and colorful video featuring the show's recognizable theme song. In the background, the series takes on the "new name" Only Murders in London as clips and photos from the series tease the show's transition from New York to London.
When we last left Charles, Oliver, and Mabel in the season 5 finale, they were closing the case that involved the murder of their beloved doorman Lester and how it intersected with a group of billionaires who were looking to buy and convert the Arconia. The cliffhanger found the trio happening upon the murder of podcast host Cinda Canning, who was played by Tina Fey.
Upon revealing the season 6 premiere date, Hulu also previewed the new season with the official synopsis, which suggests this might be their most dangerous case to date:
"After successfully bringing the guilty to justice once again, Charles, Oliver and Mabel embark on their hardest case yet when the next victim — Cinda Canning — arrives at their doorstep, summoning them to London to catch her killer. Our beloved trio of true crime-solving podcasters must now navigate their way through the home of the cozy murder mystery, replete with a whole new collection of suspicious and particularly English-eccentric characters. But can they follow in the footsteps of the woman whose podcast started it all for them … without having their story end the same as hers?"
Only Murders in the Building season 6 welcomes a long list of new guest stars to join returning stars Steve Martin, Martin Short, Selena Gomez, Michael Cyril Creighton, and Meryl Streep. Among the new faces joining season 6 are Olivia Colman, Nicola Coughlan, Martin Freeman, Jennifer Saunders, Sean Teale, Simone Ashley, Amar Chadha-Patel, Rhea Norwood, Matthew Beard, and Sharon Horgan.
There's no doubt that one of those new faces will be our killer, but obviously without watching the episodes, there's no way to even begin to guess who could be culprit this time around. We don't even know their characters' names yet or even seen them in action! We'll have to keep waiting for more details on the series from Hulu, including the full-length season 6 trailer.
