Prime Video has been releasing new hit series after new hit series this year, and the streaming service has found particular success in the teen drama space with young adult sensations Off Campus, Every Year After, and Elle dropping one after another this summer. But Prime Video managed to squeeze in one last success story this summer with Sterling Point.
From creator Megan Park and executive producers Josh Schwartz and Stephanie Savage, Sterling Point released on Aug. 5 on Prime Video. Just two weeks after its premiere, the teen drama series earned an official renewal for season 2, which is everything fans wanted and expected. Annie and Ramona will be back for more relatable, hilarious, and emotional moments in Muskoka.
Since its end-of-summer release, Sterling Point has remained within the first two placements of the daily Top 10 on Prime Video, taking the peak position after its premiere. In addition to becoming instantly beloved by fans, the series also has the bragging rights of being adored by critics as evidenced by its near-perfect Rotten Tomatoes score. The excitement for season 2 is on!

Upon the Sterling Point season 2 renewal announcement, Park shared a statement: "It’s been an absolute joy to see the appreciation and love for the show. We worked so hard to make the show as authentic as possible and to see audiences respond to that has been thrilling. We cannot wait to dive deeper into these characters and deliver the best second season ever."
The showrunner had previously hinted at what could be in store for the second season after Annie and Ramona switched places at the end of their summer together. Ramona headed to New York City with their father and brother, while Annie stayed back in Muskoka to continue exploring her identity and getting to know their mother's past.
Park suggested that when season 2 premieres, we will catch up with Ramona in New York for a bit and see what she has been getting up to with Steven and Connor. Speaking of Connor, he secretly reached out to his and Annie's birth mother, which could be a large part of the second season's story. Oona's mom might also make her debut in season 2 as the parental drama goes wider.
Now that Sterling Point season 2 is confirmed to be happening, fans will be getting everything we want, which extends far beyond the general concept of "more." After the world has been built and the character dynamics have been established, we can dig even deeper into each character and their past, present, and future. Don't forget, there are still decisions to be made about the fate of the island.
The full main and recurring cast from season 1—Ella Rubin, Amélie Hoeferle, Jacob Whiteduck-Lavoie, Daniel Quinn-Toye, Bo Bragason, Keen Ruffalo, Jay Duplass, Jeffrey Dean Morgan, Nikko Angelo Hinayo, Mabel Strachan, Elle-Maija Tailfeathers, and Missi Pyle—are expected to reprise their roles, though official casting announcements will surely follow in the coming months.
Prime Video hasn't confirmed how many episodes will be in season 2, though it's expected to be another eight episodes, despite fans' hopes for an increased episode count. There's no word yet on when production will begin or when the second season could make its premiere, though we can keep our fingers crossed it's as soon as possible. After all, there's already a lot to celebrate!
