When we last left off in season 2 of The Terminal List both Reece (Chris Pratt) and Katie (Constance Wu) had made some forward progress. And it left them both in danger. As we enter this fifth episode, “Frogman Shit,” we see how they’re left to react, recover, and move forward. Let’s dive in. SPOILERS BELOW.
Saving Katie
Raife (Tom Hopper) got there just in time to save Katie, but she’s still wounded. So, Raife takes her to get help. But she can’t go to a hospital, so he turns to a friend (Sharon Taylor) for help. Katie gets emergency treatment, but she still needs a hospital. So, Raife has to clear the way.
He goes back to the scene and sees someone has removed the bodies. He finds the hidden documents and heads back. He has a plan. He summons Yana (Olga Kurylenko) and passes on some documents and information. He has a plan of making it clear Katie is missing and there is evidence she was attacked. This could provide enough cover to move her safely.
Yana gets it done. She uses Adrenov (Costa Ronin) to hold a press conference and share the details of what’s being investigated. That’s the opening needed to move Katie to the hospital, and Jeff (Martin Sensmeier) arrives to help serve as her driver. Raife, meanwhile, has his own mission to accomplish.
He heads to a Super Max prison, the Red Onion, to meet with his old colleague Jed (Robert Wisdom). Jed was once a top man for the CIA who is now in prison because his passion turned criminal. But he still loves his country, and Raife trades on that to ask about Kestrel. It was an old CIA program to destabilize countries that was deemed too risky. But it’s been brought back.
The question is who would bring it back. And Jed has a theory that one of those quiet people in the room was Oliver Grey (Jeremy Bobb). He’s someone who’s been in the background a lot this season, and now it’s clear he’s pulling the strings. But who is his man on the ground?

In from the cold
Reece makes it free and contacts Freddy (Gabriel Luna). He gets back and briefs the group that it is Jules (Luke Hemsworth) pulling the strings and Mo Farooq (Dar Salim) is still a loyal man undercover. With Jules in the wind, they decide to follow the thread. And Mo has turned over a phone to allow the teams to listen in and track him. That turns out to be helpful.
He’s nabbed by the group and delivered to Amin Al-Nawaz (Shadi Janho) for a meeting. At the meeting, as Reece and the others are tracking, Jules appears. He’s sold-out Mo, who is now about to be killed as a traitor. Sensing his old colleague is in trouble, Reece makes entry.
Jules is working behind the scenes and manages to get a new mission and to take off before anyone arrives. It’s Grey pulling the strings, but what is their ultimate goal, and why are they using Al Queda? That’s a question that remains unanswered.
But Reece arrives in time to save Mo, who is able to get free and help fight his way out. They get out, and Freddy is able to make a big shot that takes out Amin Al-Nawaz, ending that threat. It seems to be a success as they bring Mo back into the fold. Now, the hunt is on for Jules and his mission.
But as the team is debriefing and celebrating, Reece sees the news. He sees Adrenov talking about Katie and talking about the weapons that have been stolen and smuggled to Al-Queda. It’s clear that whatever Jules is doing ties directly back to Katie and to the investigation with Raife. That likely means that both halves of our story are soon to connect.
This was a good, action-packed episode. I’m interested to see how things shift now that they are chasing Jules, who makes for a compelling bad guy. I am excited to potentially see Reece and Raife back together, too. It’s coming.
The Terminal List is now streaming on Prime Video.
