Warning: This post contains spoilers from Yaga episode 3 from this point forward.

In the two-episode series premiere, Yaga started with a real bang and an unexpected twist that set Carson and Rapp's investigation into motion. While they were simply looking to track down Henry amid his disappearance, his roommate and lookalike Logan turned up dead after a wild house party, taking the case into a new and much more dangerous direction than they previously expected

Yaga episode 3 begins right back at the scene of the crime as police join Rapp and Carson at the water's edge. As Eckert pulls the sheet to expose Logan's body, Rapp sees the body as Henry's, especially when his eyes open and they're blue. But it's just another drug-fueled hallucination. Despite Rapp's questions, Eckert believes Logan was murdered because he was castrated.

Carson fills Eckert in on the details of the party, chasing Logan, and finding him dead hours later. Billy reveals blood was found on the carpet near the open window in Logan's bedroom. Rapp admits that he saw Katherine and a bird on fire, which is enough for Eckert to send him and Carson home for the day. As expected, Rapp gets a talking to from Henry's parents, who are headed to Whittock.

Katherine assists in the murder investigation

Carson helps Rapp into his room and sees his "murder board" in the flesh, and it includes a photo with the Parks from when he was younger. Carson appears to wave the white flag with Rapp when she proposes to work together. She believes the cases are connected. Rapp tries to kiss her, misreading the moment, and when she turns away, he immediately curls up and goes to sleep.

She kneels down by Rapp's bed and leans in toward him. When his eyes open, he sees Pam Russell approaching him and pulling a feather from his mouth. He awakens from the dream with a start and finds Carson sleeping in a chair on the other side of the room. She had taken Katherine's book from his bag, and he's not thrilled that she was going through his things.

Before hopping into the shower to meet with forensics, Rapp continues to scratch at the mystery bite on his arm. They arrive at the coroner's office to meet with forensics specialist Jacqueline Conrad. She goes by Jake and reveal's Carson's first name is Fran. Jake uncovers Logan's body and announces he died from a stab wound in the abdomen. He also had a broken neck in addition to being castrated, and his time of death is estimated to be between 3 and 4 a.m.

Logan had trace amounts of hallucinogens in his system and other tests revealed that he had recently ejaculated before his death. They found unidentified human DNA underneath his fingernails, which would give a sense as to who might have killed him. Eckert, Carson, and Rapp look over crime scene photos, and Carson has a theory that he could have been mistaken for Henry.

Carson has other theories, like Logan's death could have been a warning for someone else or Henry could have even killed Logan. Jake hands Carson the piece of human bone connected to sharp obsidian that broke off inside Logan. Considering it's an ancient piece, resident bone expert Katherine agreed to help PD with the case.

Carson, Rapp, and Eckert meet with Katherine to discuss the artifact and possible murder weapon, and she supposes it's from the Aztecs. She presumes it's a ceremonial midwife's sacrificial knife. They're wondering how someone could have gotten their hands on the item since it's so hard to come by such a relic. When they're finished, Katherine asks Rapp to walk her out.

Carson and Rapp discover Logan's secret room and recordings

Rapp takes the opportunity to ask Katherine about the mysterious podcast episode she recorded with Henry that Rapp can't find online. Katherine reveals she and Henry talked about eating bones and Baba Yaga, and Rapp jokes about John Wick. He reads up on Baba Yaga and wonders why they were talking about this topic. Carson heads off to speak with Logan's mother alone.

Carson meets Alice at the church to offer her condolences and manages to learn more about Logan's past. Alice describes the situation as Logan being swept up by Henry's charms and changing himself to be more like him. Apparently, Pam pressured Logan into doing something, but his mom doesn't explain exactly what. Geena told her Henry and Logan bough a chicken and joked about sacrificing it. Carson asks Alice point blank whether Logan's father was Mr. Park, but she doesn't confirm.

Rapp goes for a run on the beach and sees the woman in front of him multiply into three people. He trips on a branch and sees a chilling wooden mask. When he looks up, he sees Pam standing in front of him. In actuality, there was no mask; it's just an oddly shaped piece of wood. Rapp calls Carson and jokes with her about liking Jake before they decide to meet back up at Henry's house.

They head right up to Logan's room to poke around the crime scene. Rapp finds the strange orange-brown powder Rapp was drugged with in Logan's medicine cabinet. On the bottom of the container, Rapp sees the triangular symbol and can't place where he's seen it. Rapp wonders aloud if Logan wanted to replace Henry and become him. They again find the chicken foot from episode 1.

Rapp discovers that the bookshelf in Logan's room opens to a secret room containing recording equipment and dozens of dated tapes. Carson plays the tape still in the recorder and hears Logan having sex in Henry's room the night before. Rapp heads down to Henry's room to look for the bug, which he finds in a wolf statue. Once Rapp starts talking, a new recording immediately begins.

They suppose that Logan was recording Henry having sex from his secret room. They continue listening to the recording from the night before and hear Logan refer to the woman as Pam. The recording reaches the point where Carson and Rapp barge into the room just as Rapp spots a blood stain by Henry's bed. Underneath, he finds the triangular symbol on the floor in blood and fashioned with three feathers at the end of each point's swirl.
