According to an HBO press release, the plot of this new season will revolve around a murder that three police officers and a criminal must navigate around for their own sake.
"Three police officers and a career criminal must navigate a web of conspiracy in the aftermath of a murder.”"
It’s going to be interesting to see just how all of the character fit into this. We know that Farrell is playing a conflicted cop who has a sordid past while the character Vaughn is playing is a career criminal. The other two leads are yet to be filled but it’s a safe bet to assume that Farrell’s character might be an anti-hero and we could get a heroic character in a yet-to-be cast role.
Still, we know what the True Detective plot will be, and that’s more than we could have hoped for in this avalanche of news.
