True Detective Fan Revisits Shooting Locations (Photos)

We are all currently in a True Detective void at the moment as we have until at least January until we see new episodes and it won’t be until at least later this summer that we get any really whiff of actual casting news. But in the mean time, fans of the series have had to get creative in how they fill the void of having no true Detective to chew on — not even Bl-ray releases yet — and one fan has shared something incredibly eerie and amazing all at the same time.

A Reddit user managed to tear himself away fro his computer and went on an adventure to Louisiana to not only visit the filming locations for True Detective but take almost exact shots that where used in the show. Despite there being no Matthew McConaughey or Woody Harrelson, the results are something of a wonder.

The photos go to show just how important shooting on location can be when it’s done to an extent that it adds character to the show. Rust and Marty were enough character to carry True Detective but adding the backdrop of the Podunk town adds texture to what was created by McConaughey and Harrelson.
