Houston Texans are the Favorite for HBO’s Hard Knocks
By Sam Rideout
Didn’t the NFL season just end, like, yesterday?
It sure feels like that, but NFL teams across the league are gearing up for training camp, which also means one NFL team is gearing up to be the focus of HBO‘s reality series Hard Knocks.
Right now, that team appears to be the Houston Texans, according to Tania Ganguli of ESPN. Apparently, three teams, Washington, Buffalo, and Houston, were the three “finalists,” for the featured team in the series.
For those unfamiliar with Hard Knocks, it’s a reality series that follows an NFL team through training camp and gives fans a “behind the scenes” look at the rigors of training camp and how cutthroat the NFL business can be for players.
Here’s a trailer from an old season of Hard Knocks featuring the Miami Dolphins:
This will be the tenth season of Hard Knocks, which has run off-and-on since 2001.
Of the teams featured, the Houston Texans have never been the subject of the show, and neither has Buffalo or Washington for that matter.
The Dallas Cowboys have been the Hard Knocks team twice, while Atlanta, Miami, Baltimore, Kansas City, the New York Jets, and Cincinnati have all been featured once.
There’s been no announcement of a release date for Hard Knocks, but typically, the show premieres the first week of August.
