HBO Now Available on Chromecast and Android Soon

HBO Now is making a ton of headlines this week!

Only a few days after news broke that HBO could lower prices for its new streaming service, Engadget is now reporting that HBO Now will be available on Android and Chromecast very soon, possibly even this summer.

If you remember, when HBO Now was released, Apple had an exclusive deal with HBO to be the sole provider of HBO Now, which was trotted out shortly before the Season 5 premiere of Game of Thrones.

Well, now it appears HBO will be making HBO Now available on Chromecast and Android before the True Detective Season 2 premiere on June 21, according to the report.

The report indicated that you’ll be able to purchase HBO Now for Chromecast and Android through Google, just like you can through Apple right now.

Here’s what HBO VP Bernadette Aulestia said about making HBO Now more available, via Engadget:

"“We have seen through social media that there is great demand for the service among Android and Chromecast users and we’re excited to deliver HBO Now to them.”"

This plan seems to have always been in place, however. I mean, now one knew what the demand for HBO Now would be, but it’s clear that people love HBO’s shows. Giving people an easier, and hopefully cheaper option, to watch those shows should not be taken off the table.
