The Real Woman Behind Spotlight Talks About Working with Rachel McAdams
Sacha Pfeiffer, the journalist portrayed by Rachel McAdams in Spotlight, talks about working with her.
Spotlight could very well end up being a huge deal for Rachel McAdams. She is, after all, nominated for an Oscar for her role in the film. Rachel McAdams is also the only actor nominated for True Detective season two, even though she ended up losing the Critic’s Choice Award.

Although True Detective season two didn’t really give any actor a bump like it did McConaughey, McAdam’s star is (coincidentally) on the rise. Not that it really needed the push. Spotlight has been pulling in many awards, including one from the Writer’s Guild. Now, the woman who Rachel McAdams portrays, Sacha Pfeiffer, has talked about working with McAdams with The Celebrity Cafe.
Rachel McAdams’ dedication to getting every detail correct comes across when Pfeffier talks about texting with her:
"“…I just got notified that she was going to be my actor. But then I spent an extensive amount of time for her as she got ready and, even during the filming, I was with her a lot. I would get text messages in the middle of the work day, and Rachel would say, “When you were doing an interview here, would you have used your notebook or typed into a computer?”"

It’s the little details that can go a long way to creating a feeling of authenticity. Rachel McAdams is a good actor that has been pigeonholed for a long time, and Spotlight — perhaps even combined with her dramatic work in True Detective — could help broaden her career.
