Take a look inside Girls’ First Episode of the season, “Wedding Day.” (Video)

With two days until the next episode of Girls, let’s take a look at the making of “Wedding Day.”

The first episode of Girls’ fifth season, “Wedding Day,” kept within the show’s comfort zone and made it clear that Desi and Marnie are in it for keeps. At least for now. A lot has been changing for the group, and that looks to be the major theme of the season. After the episode, HBO posted a video as part of their Inside the Episode series, which gives a short behind the scenes look.

Lena Dunham takes center stage here, which makes sense since Girls is her baby. There are a few semi-interesting bits of trivia to take away, like the fact that the lake that Ray and Desi take a swim in was freezing so they had to wait until the weather was warmer to shoot that particular scene.

Alison Williams also talks about co-creating her horrible glamour-witch makeup face. Dunham also talks about the direction that some of the characters are going — no mention of Shosh and Tokyo — such as Jessa’s weird relationship with Adam. She brings up a fair point that Jessa wouldn’t be the one make the first move because she respects Hannah too much, but Adam doesn’t have that same restraint.

We know that quite well from his alarming relationship with Mimi-Rose while Hannah was conveniently out of town last season. Right now it feels like Girls has a solid game plan, though the show has been known to suddenly shift gears seemingly out of nowhere.
