Colin Farrell’s The Lobster is Back on Track

Colin Farrell’s newest film, The Lobster, is finally back on track after some studio trouble.

When it comes to Colin Farrell’s current projects, all eyes are on Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them. The Hype machine hasn’t even really begun on the new Harry Potter trilogy, but it already feels like it’s at critical levels. We haven’t even seen Colin Farrell’s character in the trailer yet. Since he’s not exactly the lead, however, it’s not that big of a deal.

A film that Colin Farrell actually is the lead in is The Lobster. The movie has had something of a torturned production story so far, at least when it comes to actually getting it out in North America. The original studio behind The Lobster experienced some financial trouble and head to give the film to A24 to handle. It was then pushed back indefinitely.

Now, however, according to an exclusive over at Entertainment Weekly, things are back on track. The Lobster, instead of releasing five days ago (March 11th) will instead release on May 13th. A delay of two months isn’t all that bad, though it does sting a little that the film has played in many other countries. You can even currently buy it at Amazon UK.

To go with the new release day is also a brand new trailer. Check it out:

Since the film’s premiere at Cannes last year, we’ve actually seen a far amount of The Lobster through several trailers. This is likely to be the last trailer released for a movie that has been out there for almost a full year at this point.

Next: Cary Fukunaga's The Alienist may have a lead.

The Lobster is a strange movie, and its troubled release only adds to its allure. For those curious, the film currently holds a 91 over at Rotten Tomatoes.
