Michelle Monaghan’s The Path is Getting Good Early Reviews

Early Reviews for Michelle Monaghan’s The Path are starting to roll in, and for the most part they’re good.

It’s been a few years since the first season of True Detective at this point and Michelle Monaghan hasn’t really starred in anything major since. Monaghan played Maggie Hart and unfortunately she didn’t get every much attention for it. She was fantastic, though the part itself is partially what led to criticisms of misogyny.

Sine then Michelle Monaghan has starred in a few films but hasn’t really done anything major — we can forgive her for being in Pixels. Hulu’s new series about the hijinks of a cult, The Path, is set to premiere next week. It will be the Monaghan’s first major part since the end of True Detective.

The entire cast is impressive — special shoutout to Hugh Dancy, who in a perfect world would still be playing Will Graham on Hannibal. Early reviews are starting to come in, and so far The Path seems to be a winner. It’s currently sitting at a cool 71 on Metacritic, which is a little above average. Granted, there are currently less than 15 reviews to pull from. At this same point, however, True Detective’s second season was already considered to be a failure. And that was even before it actually aired.

The worst review is Variety, which accuses the show of being boring and hollow. Fortunately that is not the general consensus. Viewers will get to make up their own minds on March 30th, when The Path will premiere on Hulu for a ten-episode season.
