Go Inside Matthew McConaughey’s Dolce and Gabanna Campaign
Matthew McConaughey isn’t just selling new Lincolns anymore.
Matthew McConaughey is on a serious winning streak right now. He’ll be in possibly the most highly anticipated Stephen King adaptation of all time, The Dark Tower, and he is the current Lincoln spokesman and star of some ridiculous commercials. Cars are not the only thing that McConaughey has helped endorse, however.
Matthew McConaughey was a part of a few Dolce & Gabanna campaigns — in case you were wondering what his cologne of choice was. Celebrity endorsements of high-end products can be strange and sometimes gorgeously artistic. For example, watch this David Bowie ad for Luis Vuiton that ends up being a short film:
That’s not even all that unique when it comes to these sort of campaigns. Matthew McConaughey’s will be a tad more understated. Us Weekly had a backstage pass to the production and recently shared their findings. For his part, Matthew McConaughey referred to the shoot as “fearless.” So that’s something.

Though those are not Matthew McConaughey’s children, the ad is ostensibly supposed to show him as a family man. A fancy family man with equally fancy, unimpressed children. At least he has some hair here, as the most recent Lincoln commercial showed him bald. Take this as a history in slightly unsettling ads.
Matthew McConaughey may end up hawking Lincoln cars until the end of time, but that doesn’t mean there aren’t others that want a piece of him as well. Imagine all of the other products that McConaughey could help sell — expensive items only, of course. McConaughey isn’t an Old Navy sort of guy.

McConaughey’s only booked film so far is The Dark Tower, so he could have plenty of time to appear in a myriad of other ad campaigns. Time will tell.
