Walton Goggins and Danny McBride Have Something to say About Vice Principals
By Julie Kelly
Walton Goggins and Danny McBride sat down for a short promo interview to talk about Vice Principals.
HBO is putting its full weight behind Vice Principals, their new upcoming comedy series. The summer is tough on television — or it used to be, anyway — so shows can usually use an extra push in the promotional department. There have already been a few trailers and teases for Vice Principals, and now there’s one more.
Just in case you haven’t gotten the hint from HBO yet, Vice Principals is a comedy about vice principals. To further bring that point home, the two stars of the show, Walton Goggins and Danny McBride, sat down to discuss the finer points of the series. The interview, which you can watch below, is cut with clips that we’ve seen already.

Both Goggins and McBride agree that the premise of the show is ridiculous and both characters are out of their minds. So that’s probably a good thing. If it hasn’t been made clear by now that both Goggins’ and McBride’s characters are immature idiots, it will now. It’s mentioned that the two are going through the same social situations as high school students, and that sounds about right The video ends with a hilarious clip of the two characters exchanging increasingly ridiculous insults.
Vice Principals could be the comedy to make HBO’s summer, and they’re certainly pushing it like it will. In fact, it’s the only series premiering this summer that HBO has taken a vested interest in promoting. Hopefully all of the fuss will be worth it when Vice Principals premieres next month.
Next: The next Game of Thrones will be heavy on confrontation.
To be honest we’re not all that worried about it. Whether it can attract viewers, however, is a different, more complicated matter.
