Walton Goggins went back on Conan last Night
Walton Goggins has a great smile, right?
There’s not really any other way to say it: Walton Goggins is what makes Vice Principals work. Sure, it’s his character’s interactions with Dany McBride that really do it, but Goggins as Russell adds something worth talking about. That appears to be an accepted fact, as Goggins has been the go-to person to promote Vice Principals.
That’s fine with us. Walton Goggins happens to give great interviews, as can be clearly seen in his return to Conan. Conan offers up actor interviews in clips, so here’s one of Goggins talking about his teeth:

He does have a pretty great smile, doesn’t he? Unfortunately Vice Principals didn’t really come up in the interview. At this point, however, there’s not really that much to talk about. There have been plenty of other interviews about Vice Principals, and Walton Goggins has given most of them. His best, at least so far, was a print interview with Esquire in which he talked about his love of playing villains.
For those more interested in Vice Principals than Goggin’s charming self, his interview on Jimmy Kimmel gave a little more insight, especially about what it was like to work with Bill Murray. Vice Principals is set to run or only two seasons and the entire series has been filmed already. In all likelihood the press for Vice Principals will be dying down shortly, though it will pick up again next year.
Next: Riz Ahmed talked about The Night Of on The Late Show.
Vice Principals has been doing well in the ratings, outpacing Eastbound & Down. That’s good news, though the show itself has been hit-or-miss, and suffered greatly when an episode didn’t feature Walton Goggins at all. The season has two episodes left which will hopefully be enough time to end with a bang. That is to say, with Goggins doing something wonderfully chaotic.
