HBO Invites you to the set of Westworld
Take a tour of the Westworld set
Westword is almost upon us. It so close that we can practically taste the gunpowder and burning circuits. Or something like that. HBO is also aware of this, but instead of stepping back they have encouraged would-be fans to dig even further. There may have been some issues filming the series, but that hasn’t stopped HBO from sharing some of the experience ahead of the October 2nd premiere.
A newly released video shows some behind the scenes footage of Westworld. The new clip doesn’t pretend to be a commercial for the actual (fictional) Westworld, but is instead of a rather straight-forward look at the production of it.

No, there isn’t really any behind the scenes footage in the strictest sense. It’s two minutes of new footage along with short interview clips with Jonathon Nolan, J.J Abrams, Evan Rachel Wood, and others. There is talk of morality and wish-fulfillment, which is practically mandated for movies or series involving androids. Still, Westworld somehow makes it feel new again. Sure, it’s based on a movie from the 70’s, but it doesn’t feel like it. It feels blisteringly original.
Suffice it to say, the hype is now through the roof.
This first look is titled “An Invitation to the Set,” and you can count on there being more. Hopefully they will end up being more informative. HBO has a tendency to release behind the scenes clips after new episodes of their most popular shows, and there is no reason why Westworld would be any different.

Westworld is a show that could spin-off into something huge, much like how Game of Thrones as. Action figures, collectibles, clothing, are all well within the reach of this new project. Maybe there is something jaded to be said about that, but right now it’s all so exciting.
