Watch Sarah Jessica Parker on Jimmy Kimmel Live
Sarah Jessica Parker took to Jimmy Kimmel Live
Yes, everyone is talking about Westworld. It’s going to be the next big thing, so we all might as well get used to it. There are, however, other new shows coming to HBO this fall. One of them is Divorce, Sarah Jessica Parker’s new show about a, well, divorce. It’s more of a dramedy than anything else, perhaps more in line with the general tone of Girls.
To help promote the new series Sarah Jessica Parker went on Jimmy Kimmel Live last night. In the clip below you can watch her talk about both Sex & the City and Divorce:
More from Show Snob
- The Santa Clauses season 2, episode 6 recap “Wanga Banga Langa!”
- Lawmen: Bass Reeves season 1, episode 7 preview: Non-spoiler thoughts for Part VII
- Goosebumps season 1, episode 6 recap: “Night of the Living Dummy”
- Beacon 23 season 1, episode 3 recap: “Why Can’t We Go on as Three?”
- Upload season 3, episode 2 recap: “Strawberry”
The interview is preceded by a clip of Frances and Robert in what appears to be couples therapy. It’s a clip that we haven’t seen yet, and it apparently sets the path for the series. The interview doesn’t focus all that much on Divorce, though it stays on the subject long enough for Sarah Jessica Parker to say how proud of it she is.
As Sarah Jessica Parker points out, Sex and the City came on in a time when HBO wasn’t the go-to place for scripted TV. That show, among a few others like Oz, The Wire, and The Sopranos completely changed that perception.
Next: The Westworld premiere party was crazy
Divorce will be Parker’s first return to HBO since Sex and the City ended in 2004 and expectations are fairly high. Westworld may be getting most of the attention, but for those not interested in epic science fiction Divorce will offer a fine alternative. Divorce will premiere on October 9th, a week after Westworld. As long as HBO is willing to give it the attention it seems to deserve so far, there’s no reason to believe that Divorce can’t be a major success.
